I'm Arun Tamang. I work with travel and real estate businesses in Nepal.

The problems you're probably facing right now

If you're searching for an SEO specialist in Nepal, you're likely experiencing one or more of these. They're the actual frustrations business owners tell me about.

01

"My website doesn't bring me customers."

Your website exists. It probably looks fine. But it doesn't function as an acquisition channel. It's a digital business card.

If you're a trekking agency, international OTAs like Viator, TourRadar, and Booking.com capture the bookings your website should be getting. If you're a real estate agency, Hamrobazar and Ghar.com.np dominate search. Your property listings are invisible.

But the issue usually isn't traffic. It's that the website isn't helping buyers make decisions. A trekker doesn't book a $2,000 expedition after visiting one page. A property buyer doesn't enquire about a NPR 2 crore apartment without verifying credibility across multiple sources. Your website needs to support that decision process, not just exist as a brochure.

02

"I'm dependent on platforms I don't control."

Travel businesses lose 25 to 30% of every booking to OTA commissions. You don't own the customer relationship. You can't email them next season. You can't build a referral system. You're renting access to your own market.

Real estate agencies depend on Facebook groups and Marketplace for inquiries. The quality is low. The inquiries are mostly price shoppers. And if Facebook changes its algorithm or policies tomorrow, your entire lead flow disappears.

Platform dependency isn't inevitable. SEO builds an asset on your domain. Rankings, content, and authority that compound over time. Something no platform can take away.

03

"I've tried marketing and it didn't work."

You've paid for SEO packages before. You got keyword reports and ranking updates. Your revenue didn't move. You've run Facebook and Google Ads. The ROI was unclear. You've worked with providers that talked about rankings while your bookings stayed flat.

This is the most common thing I hear. And it's the reason you're skeptical. You should be.

But marketing works. The problem is that most providers sell activity, not outcomes. They report on what they did. They don't report on what it generated. Rankings are a metric. Bookings are a business outcome. If a provider can't connect their work to revenue, you're paying for activity, not results.

04

"I don't know how to judge if someone is good at this."

This is the problem nobody talks about. You can judge a trekking guide's competence. You can judge a property's value. You cannot judge an SEO provider's competence. Not during the sales process. Not until months have passed.

This creates massive anxiety. You're about to invest in something you can't evaluate. How do you separate someone who can talk from someone who can do?

You don't need to trust someone for 6 months to find out. There's a way to evaluate a provider's thinking before you commit. More on that below.

05

"I'm competing against companies with bigger budgets."

A small trekking agency competing against Viator and Booking.com. A local real estate agency competing against Hamrobazar's network effects. They have domain authority, content volume, and ad budgets you can't match.

You don't need to outspend them. You outsmart them. Big portals dominate generic searches. You win by capturing the specific searches where buyers are ready to act. "Annapurna Base Camp trek cost" not "Nepal trek." "2 BHK apartment in Budhanilkantha" not "real estate Nepal."

06

"I don't have time or headspace for this."

You're running operations, sales, HR, and finance. Marketing is item 11 on a list of 10. You don't need another vendor sending you tasks to review. You need someone who takes ownership of the outcome.

You don't need to understand SEO to benefit from it. You need someone who understands your business and can translate search into revenue. You need an operator, not a checklist.

Why most SEO doesn't work

Most SEO fails for one reason. It starts with the channel instead of the business.

Providers ask "how do I get more visitors?" before asking "why aren't the current visitors buying?"

They optimize for rankings before understanding the revenue model. They produce content for search volume, not buyer intent.

Most SEO providers

  • Ask "how do I get more visitors?"
  • Optimize for rankings before understanding the revenue model
  • Produce content for search volume, not buyer intent
  • A monthly report full of metrics that don't connect to your business outcomes

I start with the business

  • Ask "why aren't the current visitors buying?"
  • Diagnose the actual constraint before recommending anything
  • Understand the revenue model
  • See it through bookings, inquiries, and revenue

The result is predictable. Traffic goes up. Bookings don't. Rankings improve. Revenue stays flat. You get a monthly report full of metrics that don't connect to your business outcomes.

This isn't because providers are dishonest. It's because they're trained to think about SEO, not about business. They see the world through keywords, backlinks, and algorithms. They don't see it through bookings, inquiries, and revenue.

Execution without diagnosis creates activity rather than progress.

You can do everything right and still not move the needle if you're working on the wrong constraint.

That's why I start with the business. The diagnosis comes first. Then the execution.

How I think before SEO

My decision framework is simple:

01
Business goals

What are you actually trying to achieve? More bookings? More qualified inquiries? Better margins?

02
Growth constraint

What's actually stopping that from happening? Is it visibility? Trust? Conversion? Positioning? Or something else entirely?

03
Diagnosis

I look at the full picture. Where customers come from. Where they get lost. What's working and what's noise.

04
Strategy

I identify the one constraint that matters most right now. Not ten fixes. The one that moves revenue fastest.

05
SEO (if appropriate)

Only if search is the right lever. Sometimes it isn't.

06
Execution

I build the system. Technical foundation. Content that answers what buyers are actually looking for. Pages that turn visitors into enquiries.

07
Measurement

I measure what changed. Adjust based on what the data shows. Compound what works.

You understand this immediately. It's how you think about your own business. The difference is that most SEO providers skip the first four steps and jump straight to execution.

When SEO is NOT the right investment

This is important. SEO is not always the answer. Sometimes the constraint sits somewhere else.

If your offer is weak. Overpriced packages or uncompetitive listings won't be fixed by more traffic. It just brings more people to a weak offer.
If your positioning is unclear. If you can't explain why someone should choose you, search traffic won't solve that. Visitors arrive, don't see the difference, and leave.
If your conversion path is broken. If your website doesn't turn visitors into enquiries, more traffic means more lost visitors. Fix the leak before increasing the flow.
If you're referral-only and already at capacity. If you're turning away business because you can't handle more, the constraint is capacity, not SEO.
If you need leads next week. SEO compounds over time. If you need results immediately, paid ads or outbound might be the right short-term move.

I'll tell you if SEO isn't the right investment for your business. That honesty is part of the value. It's also why the Growth Diagnostic exists. It's a way to find out what the actual constraint is before you invest in the wrong thing.

What good SEO actually looks like

Good SEO isn't about rankings. It's about what rankings produce.

Better customer acquisition.

More direct bookings for travel businesses. More qualified inquiries for real estate. Not more traffic. More customers.

Stronger commercial intent.

Content that matches what buyers are actually searching for when they're ready to act. Not "Best Trek in Nepal" blog posts. "Annapurna Base Camp trek 14 days cost."

Reduced dependence on OTAs and platforms.

An owned acquisition channel that compounds on your domain. Something no platform can take away.

Improved lead quality.

Not more leads. Better leads. People who are actually ready to buy, not just browsing.

Long-term owned acquisition.

An asset that grows in value over time. Rankings, content, and authority that keep generating bookings and inquiries month after month.

This is what I build. Not a package. A system.

Proof

Travel & Trekking

43% more qualified organic leads in five months. From irregular inquiries to a consistent weekly pipeline.

Nepal Trekking Agency

43%More qualified organic leads
5Months

Business

A trekking agency in Nepal running 15 to 30 treks per season.

Challenge

False assumption

The agency believed they needed more traffic. Their website had traffic. It wasn't generating enough qualified enquiries.

Diagnosis

The issue wasn't traffic volume. Visitors were landing on pages that didn't match what they were actually looking for. The site was built like a brochure, not an acquisition channel.

Solution

Strategic decision

I realigned the search strategy with what travelers were actually searching for and rebuilt the pages that mattered.

Execution

Technical cleanup. Commercial page restructuring. Content aligned with booking intent.

Result

Outcome

43% more qualified organic leads in five months. From irregular inquiries to a consistent weekly pipeline.

Business lesson

More traffic doesn't fix a conversion problem. The diagnosis comes first. If the pages visitors land on don't match what they're looking for, no amount of traffic will help.

Real Estate Marketing

240% traffic growth. 17 qualified US project inquiries from zero in eight months.

European 3D Rendering Company

240%Traffic growth
17Qualified US project inquiries
8Months

Business

A European 3D rendering company targeting the US market.

Challenge

False assumption

The company believed they needed more visibility. They had zero presence in the US. No one was finding them.

Diagnosis

The market wasn't searching for "3D rendering." They were searching for specific problems they needed solved. The content was built around the service, not the buyer.

Solution

Strategic decision

I built the content foundation around the questions buyers were already asking, not the service being sold.

Execution

Content strategy built around buyer problems. Technical foundation. Internal linking architecture.

Result

Outcome

240% traffic growth. 17 qualified US project inquiries from zero in eight months. Their content also appears in Google AI Overviews.

Business lesson

Content built around the service doesn't attract buyers. Content built around the buyer's problem does. The market doesn't search for what you sell. They search for what they need.

Hiring an SEO expert in Nepal

You did not search for an SEO expert in Nepal to learn SEO. You searched because you need to hire someone, and you cannot tell from sales calls who can actually help. That is the problem this section solves.

What an SEO expert in Nepal actually does

An effective SEO expert in Nepal does four things.

Legible to Google.

Makes your site clear for Google to understand.

Matched to buyer search.

Matches your pages to what buyers already search.

Authority to revenue pages.

Moves authority toward the pages that bring bookings or inquiries.

Reported in revenue.

And reports in revenue terms you can verify.

For a trekking agency, that means the traveler comparing three Everest Base Camp operators in October finds you, not only the platforms reselling you.

For a real estate business, that means the buyer already shortlisting a locality finds your listing while they are still deciding.

Whether the title says SEO expert, SEO specialist, or SEO consultant in Nepal, the work is the same. Judgment matters more than the label.

What you should expect to invest

There is no fixed price. Monthly retainers in Nepal commonly run from NPR 25,000 to well over NPR 100,000, and my own work sits inside that range.

What you invest depends on three things: how competitive your queries are, what condition your site is in, and how much of the system has to be built rather than repaired.

I break all three down on the SEO cost page.

NPR 5,000Growth Diagnostic
NPR 50,000per month, Revenue Engine
NPR 85,000per month, Growth Partnership

So do not ask which quote is cheap. Ask what each quote builds, and whether it connects to bookings or qualified inquiries.

If a provider cannot explain that link, the price does not matter.

How to judge competence before you invest

Three questions do most of the work when you are comparing providers.

01

What will you diagnose before you recommend anything?

If the answer starts with keywords, there was no diagnosis.

02

What will you report every month?

Rankings, or bookings and qualified inquiries. Ask to see a sample report.

03

What will you choose not to do?

A provider who recommends everything has no prioritization.

The fuller list, including what to ask before signing, is on the SEO cost page. And if you would rather judge the thinking directly, the Growth Diagnostic is the shortest version of this test.

Freelancer, consultant, or agency

01

Freelance

A freelance SEO expert in Nepal usually means direct access and lower overhead.

02

Agency

An agency gives you coverage, and the tradeoff is attention that gets spread across accounts.

03

Operator

I work as a growth operator. I diagnose the constraint, then build and run the acquisition system myself, so nothing gets handed to an account manager after the pitch.

What that asks from you is a clear scope, so effort stays concentrated on the constraint rather than spread across a task list.

I compared both models, including what each actually charges for, on the SEO cost page. I explain the ways to work on Services.

If you are searching from Kathmandu

If you searched for an SEO expert in Kathmandu, the work is the same, but the buyer path has a local layer.

Travelers search trekking agency near me when they are already in Thamel. Property buyers search by location, and Maps often decides who gets called first.

I am Arun Tamang. I work from Kathmandu with businesses in Nepal and abroad.

For travel, most demand starts outside Nepal. For real estate, it splits between the Valley and buyers searching from outside it. Local foundation matters in both cases, and it is built into the system rather than added later.

How I build the acquisition system

Most SEO consultants in Nepal sell the same seo service packages. Keyword research, on-page optimization, some content, monthly reports. You get a checklist. You don't get a system.

I build an acquisition system. Every layer exists for a reason.

The foundation exists because Google needs to understand your website before it can rank it. If your site is slow, broken, or confusing to crawl, nothing else matters.

The commercial pages exist because these are the pages that generate revenue. Your trekking packages. Your property listings. They need to match what buyers are actually searching for and convert visitors into enquiries.

The content system exists because search demand is captured through content. But not generic content. Content that answers the specific questions buyers ask when they're deciding. "Is Annapurna Base Camp trek safe in December?" "What are the legal steps to buy land in Nepal?" This content builds trust and captures demand.

The internal linking architecture exists because authority needs to flow to your revenue pages. If your content doesn't link to your commercial pages, the authority it builds is wasted.

The AI and LLM optimization exists because search behavior is changing. Buyers now discover businesses through ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Content needs to be structured for AI extraction, not just traditional search. My 3D rendering case study already appears in Google AI Overviews.

The local search optimization exists because local search matters. For businesses in Kathmandu, appearing in the local pack for "trekking agency near me" or "real estate in Kathmandu" can drive more qualified inquiries than any national ranking.

The monthly Revenue Impact Report exists because you need to know what's working. Not rankings. Not traffic. Bookings and inquiries from search. Revenue movement.

Every component exists for a reason. Every decision is explained. You'll always understand why something is being done and what we've chosen not to do.

The Escape Clause

The 30-Day Escape Clause

Most SEO contracts lock you in for 6 to 12 months with no guarantee. I don't do that.

Work with me for 30 days. If you don't see a clear path to ROI by then, cancel on the spot. You keep everything I've built.

If I'm not confident I can show you visible progress in 30 days, I shouldn't be working with you. And if I am confident, the escape clause costs me nothing.

Cancel on the spot You keep everything I've built

I personally oversee every strategy, every report, and every result. When a slot opens, it goes to the next qualified business on the waitlist.

The Growth Diagnostic

You don't need to trust me for 6 months.

The Growth Diagnostic is the evaluation tool. You pay NPR 5,000. Within 72 hours, you receive a Growth Map showing exactly how much revenue you're losing from search and one highest-impact fix to capture it. You judge my thinking before committing to a retainer.

  • A Growth Map showing exactly how much revenue you're losing from search
  • The one highest-impact fix to capture it
  • Delivered within 72 hours

If the diagnostic proves I understand your business and can identify real opportunities, you'll want to continue. If it doesn't, you've spent NPR 5,000 and learned something about your business. Either way, you're not locked into a 6-month contract to find out if I'm competent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most SEO providers in Nepal sell packages. Keyword research, some on-page work, a few blog posts, monthly reports about rankings. I start with the business. I diagnose the actual constraint before recommending anything. The difference shows up in what I report on. Rankings, or bookings. Activity, or outcomes.

No. Anyone who guarantees rankings is lying to you. Google's algorithm changes constantly. What I guarantee is different. If you don't see a clear path to ROI in 30 days, you cancel. You keep everything. That's a better guarantee than a ranking promise, because rankings without revenue are just numbers on a screen.

Then you're in a better position than most. I start with a Growth Diagnostic that shows exactly what's working, what's broken, and what to do next. Many of you have worked with other SEO providers before. The diagnostic usually reveals that the previous work was activity without strategy. Content without connection. Rankings without revenue.

Because depth creates better results. A travel business owner comparing an SEO specialist in Nepal who covers 9 industries versus one who focuses on travel will choose the specialist. The specialist already understands OTA commissions, booking windows, seasonality, and traveler trust. The generalist has to learn your industry on your dime. I'd rather be the best at two industries than average at nine.

When SEO isn't the constraint. If your offer is weak, your positioning is unclear, your conversion path is broken, or you need leads next week, I'll tell you. SEO won't fix those problems. Sometimes the right answer is to fix the business first, then come back to search.

Judge the thinking before you judge the price. Ask what they will diagnose before they recommend anything, what they will report every month, and what they have chosen not to do. A provider who answers those three specifically has a method. A provider who leads with keywords or ranking guarantees has a pitch. You can also judge my thinking for NPR 5,000 before committing to any monthly work.

The Growth Diagnostic is NPR 5,000, and it is credited toward your first month if you continue. Ongoing work is NPR 50,000 a month for the Revenue Engine, which covers search acquisition, or NPR 85,000 a month for the Growth Partnership, which covers the broader growth system. Both carry the same 30-day escape clause. The full breakdown of what each covers is on SEO cost in Nepal.
